Karnataka Tourism’s successful participation at IITM Chennai has sparked enthusiasm for medical tourism, showcasing the state’s top-notch healthcare services.
Karnataka Tourism celebrated a successful participation at the India International Travel Mart (IITM) in Chennai. The event served as an excellent opportunity to display the state’s diverse tourism attractions to a broad audience of travel industry professionals, sparking significant interest and enthusiasm.
Over 200 exhibitors attended, including travel agents, tour operators, hotels, and national tourism offices, representing more than eight international destinations and 20 Indian states. Karnataka, renowned for its rich history, culture, and natural beauty, spotlighted its iconic destinations, such as the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Hampi, Pattadakal, and the Sacred Ensembles of the Hoysala.
The state also showcased its pristine beaches like Gokarna and Devbagh, lush hill stations including Coorg, Chikmagalur, Kodaikanal, Nandi Hills, and Munnar, as well as its vibrant wildlife sanctuaries such as Kaveri Wildlife Sanctuary and Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, along with Bandipur and Bannerghatta National Parks.
Karnataka Tourism’s delegation engaged in productive discussions with travel agents, tour operators, and industry stakeholders to explore collaboration opportunities. The event saw strong interest in Karnataka’s unique blend of heritage, adventure, and wellness tourism. Attendees were notably impressed by the state’s dedication to sustainable tourism and efforts to preserve its rich cultural heritage. Numerous B2B meetings were conducted to discuss potential partnerships and collaborations.
In a notable achievement, the Karnataka Tourism Pavilion received the “Medical Tourism Destination of the Year” award, acknowledging the state’s excellence in providing top-quality healthcare services to tourists.
The participation at IITM Chennai has laid a solid foundation for boosting tourism to Karnataka from southern India. The department anticipates a significant increase in visitor arrivals in the coming months.
